A TIP has been closed with police responding to an ongoing incident.
BCP Council has confirmed that the Nuffield Recycling Centre at in Poole.
Residents who tried to use the centre this afternoon said they were turned away from the site and told it will remain shut for the rest of the day.
Police officers are reportedly present at the site, which is located on the Nuffield Industrial Estate.
Residents have been advised by the council that while the “temporary” closure is in place, their next closest option is Millhams Recycling Centre in Bournemouth.
In a post on social media, a BCP Council spokesperson said: “Please be aware that the Nuffield Recycling Centre is temporarily closed.
“Millhams Recycling Centre will be your closest option at this time.
“Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.”

Recycling centre workers could be seen gathered outside the site, with marked police cars restricting access.
