A young boy was taken to hospital after a crash with a car in Boscombe on Tuesday.
The incident took place in Owls Road around 4.42pm.
Police were called to the scene following a report of a crash between a car and child.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "The pedestrian – a young boy – was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries. The road reopened at around 6.15pm."
The youngster was taken to Southampton General Hospital by land ambulance.
It is believed the air ambulance also attended the incident.
