THE weekend is just around the corner and there’s a host of events taking place across the area.

Here’s a round-up of just some of the events being held across Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and beyond.

1. Celebrate 120 years of Bournemouth Transport in King’s Park in Boscombe on Sunday when Bournemouth Bus Rally takes place between 10am and 5pm. There will be heritage bus rides, static displays, stalls and more across the day.

2. Yogis can take part in free yoga sessions in Bournemouth’s Central Gardens, Poole’s Upton Country Park and at The Quomps in Christchurch at 9.30am on Sunday.

3. The All Saints’ Summer Fete returns on Saturday between 12pm and 4pm. The event, in Western Road, Branksome Park, will feature games, stalls, food, music, a tombola, raffle and more.

4. The Bournemouth Preloved Vintage Kilo sale comes to Lovechurch at St Swithun’s in Gervis Road, Bournemouth, on Saturday between 10am and 5pm. Bargain hunters will be able to shop vintage clothing and brands for just £20 per kilo. Entry costs £1.50 and is free for under 12s.

5. Muscliff Family Funday comes to Shillingstone Drive on Saturday between 10am and 4pm. There will be a barbecue, children’s games, bouncy castles, face painting, live music, a fire truck, police car, stalls and more.

6. Holdenhurst Summer Fair will be held on the village green on Saturday from 12pm to 4pm. There will be a barbecue, children’s activities, a bouncy castle, live music, stalls and more with lunches, teas and refreshments available in the village hall. St John’s Church will be open throughout the day.

7. Broadstone Fun Day will have something for all ages on Sunday. Between 12pm and 4pm in Broadstone Way, there will be stalls and games, food and drink, games, a dog show, fancy dress competition and car show. Then from 3pm to 7pm, Rock on the Rec will see live entertainment from the likes of Balance of Power and Before We Wake.

8. Cyclists will get on their bikes for the Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride on Sunday. Participants will be able to enter a number of routes including 38, 48, 63 and 100 miles. Riders will set off from Corfe Mullen Recreation Ground. Online entry closes at 12pm on Friday. To sign up, visit macmillanbikeride.com.

9. The South Coast Makers Summer Market will be held at The Loading Dock in Avenue Lane, Bournemouth, on Saturday between 10.30am and 3.30pm. It will feature more than 30 local makers and foodies including Bad Hand Coffee and Smith and Weston Gin. There will also be second hand vinyl, DJs and bike stunt shows throughout the day. Entry is free and dogs are welcome.

10. An indoor car boot sale comes to Druitt Hall in Christchurch on Sunday between 9.30am and 12.30pm. There will be various stalls, selling pre-loved items and bric-a-brac. Entry is free and refreshments will be available.
