SENIOR councillors are set to discuss progress being made on the use of CCTV across conurbation.

Cllr Bobbie Dove, portfolio member for community safety, said a report will be brought to cabinet in November on BCP Council’s work on CCTV moving forward and what it will mean for residents.

Speaking at last week's cabinet meeting, local authority leader Cllr Drew Mellor said he was “really particularly pleased” with the efforts being made around CCTV.

“We have often said it is when (with CCTV) people feel safer and what tools are in our armour to make sure we actually land that as part of our cleaner, greener safer,” Cllr Mellor said.

Cllr Dove said there was a lot going on in the world of community safety.

She said a report on the community safety partnership strategy would be brought to cabinet in late September.

The Littledown and Iford ward councillor said this partnership with other agencies to make “BCP a place which is safe to all who work, visit and live here”.
