EMERGENCY services were called to reports of a person in the water near the West Cliff.

Poole Coastguard Rescue Team were called to the incident in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A spokesperson said: “Tasked by the joint rescue coordination centre to an incident from a 999 call involving a person in danger in the water.

“Information was passed on that the casualty had been recovered from the water and was being treated by South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust just as we arrived on scene.

“We were then stood down, a short debrief was carried out and then we departed to return to the station.

“Dorset Police, Southbourne Coastguard, HEMS doctors and RNLI Poole Lifeboat were also tasked.”
