A POPULAR mini golf facility in Sandbanks is closed today due to maintenance, despite being closed for a similar purpose during Easter.

Parents stumbled across the closed Sandbanks Crazy Golf just off Banks Road today (Thursday, June 23) with no public notices apparently visible.

One woman said: “[The] website says it’s open every day at 10. Disappointed families with kids on inset days here feeling disgruntled. They’d checked the website too, it’s often closed when I walk past.”

BCP Council took over operations for the seaside facility in March this year after the previous operator’s tenancy was not renewed.

Following the operational change, the authority said the golf course would be closed during the Easter period for “some essential safety and improvement works”.

The facility recently opened for the summer period but is expected to close “occasionally” for further maintenance works.

A BCP Council spokesperson said: “In the summer, the Mini Golf facility at Sandbanks is open seven days a week but we occasionally need to close to carry out routine maintenance and landscaping. It is closed today for routine maintenance and will reopen again as usual tomorrow.”
