DORSET'S motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a hold-up of between 10 and 30 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• A31, from 9pm May 31 to 6am June 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A31 westbound, Palmersford to Ameysford, carriageway closure for barrier works, diversion via local authority network.
• A31, from 8pm September 20 2021 to 6am December 21 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 eastbound and westbound, Ringwood to Ashley Heath, carriageway closures for major projects, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:
• A35, from 7pm to 11pm on June 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A35 St Gabriels Cottage Morcombelake - one x night - interim to permanent - Wessex Water.
• A31, from 8pm to 11.59pm on June 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 eastbound and westbound, Roundhouse to RedPost, temporary traffic lights for BT works.
• A31, from 8pm July 4 to 6am July 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 westbound, Roundhouse roundabout to B3075 Louse Lane, temporary traffic signals for boundary wall repairs.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
