A MAN was spared a driving ban after he was caught speeding at almost double the limit in a 30mph zone.
Dale Leonard Sandever, aged 46, was accused of speeding while at the wheel of a Peugeot van in Longmeadow Lane, Poole, on July 16 last year.
Sandever was alleged to have driven at 57mph in a 30mph zone of the road in Creekmoor.
The defendant pleaded guilty to a charge of speeding when he appeared in the dock at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on June 7.
Magistrates issued him with a £392 fine along with an order to pay a £39 surcharge and £110 costs.
Sandever’s driving record was endorsed with six points which could have triggered a totting up disqualification.
However, the bench decided against a ban as they concluded that exceptional hardship would be caused if it was imposed.
