AS we all enjoy the sunshine it's abundantly clear that we are firmly in carnival season.
With that in mind, the Echo looks back at when a knight in shining armour stole the show at the Bournemouth Regatta and Carnival fancy dress competition.
The date was August 3, 1989 when Stuart Willson pulled out all the stops to clinch the coveted titel at the Wessex Hotel.
He was joined by score of schoolchildren who donned weird and wonderful costumes for the popular event.
The colourful display gave judges a difficult task - but everyone was a winner and the contest proved a hit with both young and old.
