CORFE Mullen Carnival returned after three years away – to the delight of thousands of people.

The carnival, which is a charity event, was put on hold since the last event in 2019 due to the pandemic.

A dog show, a falconry display and even alpacas were at the carnival as residents basked in the June sun.

Dean Kidd, events ground coordinator, said: “I think it’s been a very fun day. This is the first time after the pandemic and there are so many people here.”

Martine Morrison, on the committee which organised the event, added: “We’re delighted to be back and see so many people here.

“The sun is also shining for us which is lovely.”

The carnival raises funds for two charities – Lytchett RDA and Something Special.

The event, which took nine months of planning, also saw floats driving through the village.

Classic cars were also put on show, with a red Jaguar E-Type garnering a lot of attention.

Kevin Cooper, of Hope Farm Alpaca Rescue, brought eight alpacas to the carnival to the delight of children.

He said he is “proud to do it for the community”, adding: “We do a lot for charity, especially for autism and disabilities.”
