A FORMER Wetherspoon pub in Bournemouth town centre has gone on the market.

The last pint was pulled at The Christopher Creeke in Holdenhurst Road, Lansdowne, earlier this year.

The wooden decking located in front of the pub has been removed and the front of the venue has been covered with metal panels.

A new listing for the venue’s leasehold is being advertised by Savills.

The real estate firm said the property benefits from a premises licence permitting the sale of alcohol until 3am Monday to Sunday. The premises has ground and first floor trading areas.

The tenure is held on a lease expiring in June 2039, with a current rent of £63,559 per annum subjected to fixed 7.5 per cent rent reviews in 2024 and every five years after that.

Ahead of The Christopher Creeke closure on April 3, Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “We understand that staff and customers will be disappointed with the decision.

“On occasion Wetherspoon does close some of its pubs and this is the case here.

“We thank our staff and customers for their loyalty over the years.

“There will be no staff redundancies. All staff will remain with Wetherspoon working at the company’s pubs in the region.”
