THE country may have partied hard last weekend for the Queen’s jubilee but there’s lots going on this weekend in Dorset.

1. Wimborne Minster Folk Festival celebrates its 40th birthday this weekend. The event, which runs from Friday until Sunday, will see a host of dance, music, comedy, family entertainment traders and more in and around Wimborne.

2. Highcliffe Food and Arts Festival will be taking place between 10am and 5pm on Saturday and 10am and 4pm on Sunday. Visitors will be able to enjoy food, drink, arts and crafts in Lymington Road. Celebrity chefs will include Jean-Christophe Novelli, Lesley Waters and Alex Aitken.

3. Corfe Mullen Carnival returns on Saturday. The procession will leave Albert Road at 1pm before arriving at Corfe Mullen Recreation Ground at 2pm. A host of events and attractions will be on offer at the ground between 1pm and 5pm including a miniature railway, main area, dog show, music stage, fairground rides and classic vehicles.

4. Bournemouth’s Race For Life comes to the seafront on Sunday at 11am. The 5k event, which raises money for Cancer Research, will set off from Pier Approach.

5. Free yoga comes to Bournemouth’s Central Gardens, Poole’s Upton Country Park and The Quomps in Christchurch between 9.30am and 10.30am on Sunday. Participants will need to take along a yoga mat or towel and a water bottle.
