POLICE were called to reports of teenagers setting fire to bins at a park in Poole.

Officers and the fire service attended Hamworthy Park shortly after 8.30pm on Wednesday, May 18.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “Dorset Police received a report at 8.35pm on Wednesday 18 May 2022 of anti-social behaviour involving teenagers setting fire to bins at Hamworthy Park.

Officers attended along with the fire service and enquiries were carried out in the area.

“No arrests have been made in connection with this incident at this time.”

A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from Poole were called to Hamworthy Park at 8.32pm yesterday evening following reports of a small fire in the open.

"On arrival, firefighters found a wheelie bin well alight which they extinguished using a hose reel jet." 

A short time later, firefighters from Westbourne were called to Crichel Mount Road, Poole at 8.45pm following reports of a small fire in the open.

On arrival, firefighters found a bin on fire.

Firefighters left the scene at 9pm.
