A MISCHIEVOUS moggy used up one of its nine lives after it had to be rescued from under a car bonnet by firefighters in Bournemouth

The kitten was discovered after a passer-by heard meowing coming from the engine of vehicle in the Sainsbury’s car park in Christchurch Road, Boscombe, at 10.19am on Tuesday morning.

Firefighters from Springbourne Fire Station were called to the scene to help free the cat, however, they had to wait for the owner of the vehicle to return.

The operation to rescue the cat was described as “quite tricky”.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “On arrival, the crew located the vehicle and once access was gained, the kitten was located. With some assistance from the RSPCA, the reluctant kitten was rescued.

“We are pleased to rePAWt that the kitten was released uninjured.”

A spokesperson for the fire service said the cat didn’t belong to the owner of the vehicle.

The incident was dealt with by around 1.15pm.
