AN INVESTIGATION is underway following a suspected arson involving a vehicle in Ferndown.

The vehicle parked on a driveway outside a property in New Road was damaged along with an area surrounding the front door at around 11.30pm on Sunday, May 15.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Following enquiries by officers and liaison with the fire service, it is believed the fire was started deliberately.

Police have now appealed for witnesses and CCTV and dashcam footage as part of their investigation.

Detective Constable Lianne Williamson, of Dorset County CID, said: “We are carrying out a full investigation into this incident and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area on the night of Sunday 15 May 2022 to please contact us.

“I would also appeal to residents with home CCTV systems and motorists with dashcams who were in the vicinity to please check their footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.”
