ONE of the biggest events in Dorset’s foodie calendar returns next month.

Christchurch Food Festival is set to delight food and drink fans for an extended four days and organisers have said it will be the “best yet”.

The event, which has been running for more than 20 years, will take place during the national celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Here’s everything you need to know about the popular event.

When does Christchurch Food Festival take place?

It will be held across all four days of the Queen’s Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend, which takes place between Thursday, June 2 and Sunday, June 5.

What time is it open?

It will be open between 10am and 8pm on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Then on the Sunday, it will be open from 10am to 5pm.

Following on from last year’s event, the festival will be located exclusively Christchurch Quay and Quomps.

What can I look forward to?

The event will showcase and celebrate some of the best small food and drink producers from the region as well as street food, local breweries and distilleries, and a host of entertainment.

Conker Spirits are back this year and will be supplying all the bars with their Dorset Gin, Bowser alcohol free spirit and Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur.

The entertainment stage has a full line-up with music from the likes of Six & Sax, David Mein, Brad as Elvis, Grace and Spin Out UK.

There will also be performances from local choirs, theatre groups and dance groups including The Fifinellas, Mad4Dance and BBLOC and all throughout the festival there will be a huge LED screen showing highlights of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Other entertainment includes a sheep show and music from the Royal British Legion Band Christchurch.

Chefs James Golding and Dhruv Baker enjoyed the event so much they are back and have brought a host of their friends including Mark Hix, Richard Bertinet, Ulrika Jonnson, Sam & Shauna, Brian Turner, Morgan McGlynn and Perry Wakeman.

This fabulous line-up is complimented by some of our finest local chefs including Luke Hallam, Colin Nash and Simon Hallam so you can expect great cooking and helpful tips.
