EMERGENCY services were called to rescue a casualty following an incident at a building site in Poole on Tuesday morning.

Fire and ambulance crews were in Wimborne Road, Oakdale, rescuing a casualty who has been injured within the scaffolding of an under construction flat complex.

A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 9.46am this morning about an incident on Wimborne Road, Poole.

“Two technical rescue teams and a fire engine from Poole as well as the aerial ladder platform from Westbourne are currently in attendance, assisting ambulance crews in rescuing a casualty.”

As the incident is ongoing the fire service were unable to provide any further details.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 9.31am to an incident in Poole. We have sent a double-crewed land ambulance.”

The incident took place at the building site of a future 25-bedroom apartment and two retail unit development undertaken by AJC Group.

An AJC Group spokesperson said: “There was an incident on site this morning that was addressed in the manner it was as a precaution for the site operative.

“As a matter of protocol, the site operative has been taken to hospital to be checked, but we believe no serious harm has resulted.”
