A WOMAN has been sentenced after she assaulted a man by biting, spitting and punching him at a pub.

Shelley Claire Cooper, whose address was given as Hardy Crescent, Wimborne, was charged with one count of criminal damage, one count of assaulting a person causing them actual bodily harm and one count of being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

The 19-year-old pleaded guilty to all three offences and was sentenced at Weymouth Magistrates Court on May 5.

The criminal damage and assault charges were in relation to an incident at The Greyhound Inn in Blandford on March 26 this year.

It was said that Cooper caused criminal damage to a flower bed to the value of £25 and caused actual bodily harm to a man, namely by biting, spitting and punching him, at the pub.

The drunk and disorderly charge was in relation to an incident on the same day, on March 26, on Damory Street in Blandford.

Cooper was given a 12-month community order whereby she must not enter The Greyhound Inn pub and must undertake 15 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement days. She must also a pay a total of £225 compensation.
