A STOLEN car has been returned to its owner thanks to a police operation on Saturday evening.

Dorset Police received a report at 4.35pm on Saturday, May 7, relating to a stolen vehicle that was believed to be in the area of Christchurch Road in Bournemouth.

It was reported the vehicle, a red Suzuki Alto, had been stolen from an address in Heron Court Road in Bournemouth between 8pm on Friday May 6 and 10am on Saturday.

Officers attended and, following enquiries and searches, the vehicle was located unoccupied in Richmond Gardens.

Prior to locating the vehicle, an officer could be seen positioned just outside the Vitality building in Richmond Hill with a stinger device deployed across the road. This, however, was ultimately not used.

The Suzuki was recovered and returned to its rightful owner.

Dorset Police added no arrests have been made at this time and enquiries are ongoing.
