THREE people from Dorset have been dealt with by the courts for littering cigarette butts in Southampton.
The cases were all dealt with through the single justice procedure at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, May 4.
None of the defendants entered a plea to the allegations, with the matters all proved with them not present at court.
The details on the cases, which were brought to court by Southampton City Council are as follows.
James March, 23 and of Ringwood Road, Ferndown, threw down, dropped or otherwise deposited a cigarette butt and left it in Above Bar Street on January 15. March was fined £220 and ordered to pay a £34 surcharge and £168.75.
Kieran Hawks, 18 and of Medway Road, Ferndown, thew down, dropped or otherwise deposited a cigarette butt and left it in Above Bar Street on January 18. Hawks was fined £220 and ordered to pay a £34 surcharge and £168.75.
Kelly Smith, 33 and of Commercial Road, Poole, thew down, dropped or otherwise deposited a cigarette butt and left it in Above Bar Street on December 16, 2021. Smith was fined £220 and ordered to pay a £34 surcharge and £168.75.
