A DORSET actor, with credits like Game of Thrones to her name, has spoken about her promising young career with several new projects on the horizon.

Hailed as a ‘rising star’ by the industry, Hattie Gotobed has acted alongside the likes of Brad Pitt in a career which began when she was picked up by an acting agent at the age of seven.

Having first stepped on stage at 18 months old, the Poole-born actor had an astonishing debut film experience when she appeared in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 alongside her brother – fellow actor Rohan Gotobed.

Hattie, 19, told the Echo: “That was a major thing for the family because my brother Rohan played young Sirius Black.

“That was a really big part of getting involved and realising that this is what I want to do because Harry Potter is such a big production. It was a really magical place to be, being on the Hogwarts Express and other sets and there’s nothing quite like being immersed into a different world and escaping into those characters.”

More feature film roles followed for the former Corfe Hills School student who went on to act in Snow White and the Huntsman in 2012 and Jack the Giant Slayer the following year.

It would be two years later that Hattie would land her biggest role yet when she played Ghita in series five of hit fantasy show Game of Thrones.

“Game of Thrones is a highlight that I will never forget,” recalled Hattie, whose character is poisoned by Arya Stark – played by Maisie Williams – who then uses her face as a disguise to get revenge on another character.

Hattie said: “She poisons me, sadly. Takes my face and then kills Ian Beattie’s character. It was pretty crazy but pretty cool.

“I auditioned for the show a lot, I think I had about five auditions which is another side of acting – there’s so much rejection. It can be quite defeating.

“But they kept calling me back and this was the biggest role I auditioned for and eventually I got it. We filmed in Belfast for around seven weeks on and off. The whole experience was mind-blowing and I was finally at the age where I could take it all in and remember.

“I loved meeting Lena Headey, I remember she offered me a biscuit in the makeup trailer. Watching the show when I was old enough was amazing because I realised I had met all these talented people.”

Hattie also divulged some trivia which some Thrones fans may find interesting. For her role, she wore the same shoes Maisie Williams wore in the very first series.

One of her most recent credits is Homebound, a mystery horror style film about a man who takes his new girlfriend to meet his three estranged children – one of whom is played by Hattie.

Homebound was released in cinemas on April 1 and is available digitally now.

She is also set to appear in an upcoming ITV mini-series titled Tom Jones in the role of Betty Seagrim.

As well as performing, Hattie is training to be an acting teacher at the Dorset Drama Academy.

With an already impressive portfolio behind her, Hattie is optimistic for what the future holds. She said: “I’m at the age now where I know this is what I want to do with my life and there are things in the pipeline which I’m very excited by. Hopefully at 20 years we’ll be at the Oscars.”
