BLACK smoke seen coming from a derelict building in Boscombe, prompting an emergency response, turned out to be a false alarm.
Fire crews were called to a building near McDonald’s in Christchurch Road at 4.47pm on Friday, April 29, after receiving a call from a member of the public who could see black smoke coming from an unused building.
Officers from Springbourne Fire Station arrived first at the scene and began investigating, ultimately discovering the smoke came from workmen carrying out work in the building.
Once it was established there was no danger, the incident was declared a false alarm raise with good intent and another en route crew from Christchurch were stood down.
