Dorset’s very own Full Monty performers are back for one night only, raising funds for a Christchurch hospice.

Former 2CR presenter Caroline Barrett has organised the performance for Macmillan Caring Locally in Christchurch.

It comes years after radio station 2CR staged its own Full Monty Tribute Show featuring a line-up of listeners.

In 2018, Caroline’s Dad Reg Barrett sadly passed after a battle with lung cancer, originally triggered from an earlier fight with prostate cancer.

During his final months he received at home care from Macmillan Caring Locally, which supports the Macmillan Unit in the grounds of Christchurch Hospital.

Now, Caroline has joined forces again with her best friend and producer Andy Brennan to bring the show to the Regent Centre, Christchurch on May 6.

The show will feature men from all manner of backgrounds, including plumber Barry Scammell, then greengrocer Simon Crabb and ex-chauffeur Steve Maidment.

Caroline said: “The last two years under Covid have been incredibly tough for everyone and Macmillan Caring Locally, like many charities, has suffered because it hasn’t been able to organise its many of its great fundraising events.

Bournemouth Echo:

“Unfortunately, one of our performers Steve Maidment has been poorly, also due to cancer, but I am thrilled to say his son Billy will be taking to the stage, as are other local lads Darren Marshall, Charlie Patrick and Darren Wells.

“This charity has an important place in mine and my family’s heart, and we want to do all we can to support it.”

Tickets are now on sale £22.50 - over 18s Only. To book, call the Regent Centre Box Office: 01202 499199 or go online at:
