THE weather is getting warmer and the number of events being held as we head towards summer are beginning to ramp up.

A host of events and activities are taking place across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area this weekend.

Here’s a selection of some of the events taking place.

Runners will be donning their brightest clothing for Dorset Neon Run at Poole Park on Saturday evening. Night fun run will see people can walk, run or jog the 5k course between 6.30pm and 9pm. The event takes place to raise money for Diverse Abilities.

Calling all music fans; Record Store Day returns on Saturday. Square Records in Wimborne will be open at 8am with music fans invited to get their early to get their hands on vinyl releases from the likes of Blondie, David Bowie, Elton John and the Foo Fighters. Vinilo Record Store in Pokesdown will also be taking part in Record Store Day between 8am and 6pm with music fans encouraged to queue along Christchurch Road.

Picnic Park Deli in the Lower Gardens is holding a musical fundraiser to support the people of Ukraine. A total of 12 singers will be entertaining between 11.30am and 4pm in support of Help from Bournemouth to Ukraine.

Get your skates on for a roller disco at the Sir David English leisure centre on Saturday between 2pm and 4pm. Costs £6 per skater and there will be disco and laser lights, a DJ, roller skating games and more.

Those feeling energetic are invited to take part in the Trust 10 10k at Studland Bay on Sunday.  The course starts at Knoll Beach, uphill to Ballard Down, past Old Harry Rocks and back down to finish at Knoll Beach. The route will be signposted and marshalled by a volunteer team. Meet the team at Knoll Beach from 8.30am onwards. The pre-run briefing is at 8.50am for a 9am start.
