ST JOHN Ambulance are appealing for more volunteers to come forward in Dorset.

The charitable organisation need people who are willing to be a first aid representative in their area.

Multiple roles are available including adult first aiders, youth leaders, trainers, and support roles such as the charity’s logistics team.

New adult volunteers will receive training in first aid and then use their skills to deliver life saving first aid.

Successful applicants for youth leader roles will begin by working with the charity’s cadets, aged between 10 to 17 years old.

There are roles across the following areas; Portland, Shaftesbury, Bridport, Dorchester, Bournemouth and Poole.

Kevin Chappuis, a St John communications volunteer in Dorset, said: “Volunteering with St John is really satisfying and there are many people in the organisation with decades of volunteering experience to share.

“No matter how many hours a month you can spare, we’d love to hear from you.”

Further details about the roles can be found sja.org.uk/get-involved/volunteer-opportunities/

Volunteers are asked to give a minimum of 60 hours per year.
