A WOMAN has been left with several puncture wounds following a dog attack in theNew Forest.

Police have reported that a woman was cycling past Blackwater Ford at around 1.30pm on Monday, March 21.

As she approached the area, the woman encountered a man and another woman with their "German Shepherd dog".

The woman said she slowed down to go past at a gentle walking pace, but as she went to make her way past the couple and the dog, the dog slipped its owners grip and jumped at her.

This forced her to "stop in her track" when she was then bitten on the leg causing several puncture wounds and causing her leg to bleed.

The dog was eventually pulled away from the woman by its owners, it was reported.

Now, police are sharing an image of a couple and a dog in a bid to identify them to conduct enquiries.

A spokesperson from the Force said: "Were you in the area at the time? Did you see what happened?

"Do you remember seeing a German Shepherd dog acting in a dangerous manner? Perhaps you recognise the people in the image?

"Anyone with information relating to this incident is asked to call 101, quoting crime reference 44220113891."
