A HUB for football fans with an impressive collection of memorabilia, In Off The Far Post is our Trader of the Week.

The Pokesdown-based shop boasts an extensive selection of football goods, including shirts, books, photographs, programmes, stickers, cards and DVDs, with some products signed.

Owner Paul Orchard said: “If it’s to do with football, we’ll have it. Any team from anywhere in the world.”

In Off The Far Post was opened in 2014, initially as a place to store Paul’s grand collection of football memorabilia.

Bournemouth Echo:

Paul said: “I’ve been collecting since I was a kid, things like magazines, stickers and shirts. I never threw anything away.”

“My collection overtook the house, the summer house, the loft, the spare bedroom and then under the bed.

“My wife said I needed to find somewhere to put it.

“She was the one who found the shop. She called me one day and said, ‘ring this number, I’ve found somewhere to put the stuff’”.

The shop has since become home to an incredible volume of football products and has continued to attract fans of the sport from across the globe.

He said: “We have people come from all over the world.

“One guy books a week in the New Forest with his family so he can come and spend a day here.

“When people come in for the first time, they walk round open mouthed for a bit. They can’t understand how there is so much stuff.

“People say it’s like a museum.”

In Off The Far Post also operates online; Paul runs a popular Facebook page and an eBay account with goods sent to football fans far and wide.

The business also began to hold raffles through lockdown, with people buying tickets to be entered into a prize draw for a signed shirt.

Visitors to the shop can expect to take a journey through football's history, and have a chat about the sport with owner Paul.

Paul said: “People come in just to chat football.

“It doesn’t feel like work for me.”

In Off The Far Post can be found on 901 Christchurch Rd, Pokesdown, Bournemouth BH7 6AX.
