A FREE after school club at The Tank Museum in Wareham is back with funded places made available for 20 lucky students.

The Tank Museum has offered 20 funded places as it restarts its free Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) after school club, part funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Two children, aged 10-11, from eleven local primary schools have been chosen by their teachers to take part in the monthly club from January to July.

Education officer Claire Cooper said: “We’re so excited to have STEM Club running again. Sadly we had to cut the 2020 club short due to the pandemic, so it’s amazing the Museum has been fortunate enough to restart it this year.

“We have so much fun and every year is different depending on the interests of the children. They’re always full of budding questions and ideas and they absolutely love getting together and learning new skills in the science behind tanks.

“Hopefully these clubs could inspire them to become the engineers of the future.”

The club runs once a month from January until July totalling seven sessions per year.
