Some tunes are forever, and over 50 years after Your Song first topped the UK singles charts, the music of Sir Elton John has become the soundtrack to all our memories. Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in association with GRB Concerts present a symphonic concert celebrating 50 years of music-making by pop’s original Rocket Man at Lighthouse, Poole on Saturday 26 March.

From I’m Still Standing to Pinball Wizard, Tiny Dancer to Circle of Life and many more, the concert is bound to be a foot tapping extravaganza as the full symphonic forces of the BSO and a team of top West End vocalists perform a spectacular tribute to Elton John, the singer, pianist and composer.

Conducted and orchestrated by Richard Balcombe, the already brilliantly crafted songs of Elton John gain an added dimension that only a symphonic treatment can achieve. Vocalists Graham Bickley, Jon Boydon, Katie Birtill and Stuart Matthew Price will frontline the concert with their stunning voices, taking solos as well as backing vocals. Add in the talent of feature pianist John G Smith and a wonderfully classy and feel-good evening is guaranteed!

Bournemouth Echo:

"Superbly put together by Richard Balcombe and Graham Bickley for GRB Concerts, delivered by a splendid cast of singers with tremendous orchestrations using the full range and colour of the symphony orchestra this was in every respect a great evening out. Philharmonic Hall rocked!"
Andrew Cornall (Record Producer and former Vice President of A&R at EMI Classics)
