TWO Poole men have been fined by the courts after failing to give information relating to the driver of a vehicle caught committing an offence.
Reece Owen Matthews, 22, of Phyldon Road, Poole, was proved via single justice procedure to have failed to give the relevant information to Devon and Cornwall Police.
On June 3, 2021 in Crownhill, Plymouth, Matthews failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a Ford Transit alleged to have committed an offence.
Magistrates at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court fined the defendant £660 and ordered him to pay a victim surcharge of £66. He was also ordered to pay £90 in costs and given six points on his licence.
Elsewhere, Tony Murray, of Wimborne Road, Poole was found to have committed the same offence in London.
On July 20, 2021, in Sidcup, Murray failed to give information relating to the driver of a BMW alleged to have committed an offence.
Magistrates at Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court fined him £660, a victim surcharge of £66 was imposed and he must also pay £90 in costs.
He too had his licence endorsed with six points.
