TRANSPORT police have confirmed a 17-year-old boy was arrested after a fight broke out at Poole railway station on Saturday.
The reported fight took place shortly before 1.40pm on Saturday, January 22, and is understood to have happened on a South Western Railway train headed to Weymouth.
A train was stopped at platform two throughout the afternoon.
British Transport Police (BTP) attended the incident and arrested an individual on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon. They have since said this was a 17-year-old boy who was injured in the fight.
A spokesperson said: “British Transport Police were called at 1.43pm to Poole station following a report of a fight. Officers attended and arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and affray. He was taken to a local hospital where he received treatment for an injury to his hand.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and any witnesses or anyone with information can contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 277 of 22/01/22.”
The authority also reported no additional arrests have been made and no one has been charged.
People at the scene on Saturday told the Daily Echo their understanding was that someone had been stabbed during the fight. However, BTP have since confirmed that no one was stabbed during the incident.
