A CYCLIST sustained minor injuries after being knocked off his bike following a hit and run in Bournemouth.

The collision occurred on Wimborne Road at the junction with Rushton Crescent at around 6.15pm on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

It is reported that the car – possibly a blue Volkswagen Polo – failed to stop at the scene.

The cyclist, in his 50s from Bournemouth, sustained minor injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following the fail-to-stop collision.

Police Constable Elliot Penn, of Bournemouth Police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened and has not already spoken to police to please come forward.

“I would ask motorists who were travelling in the area and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage to please contact Dorset Police.

“Finally, if you were the driver of the vehicle involved, please do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account of what happened.”
