TWO teenage girls have been arrested on suspicion of arson following a fire involving an industrial bin in Bournemouth town centre.

A 14-year-old girl from Bournemouth and a 14-year-old girl from Poole have been released under investigation while police carry out further enquiries into the incident.  

Police received a report of a fire involving a large commercial bin outside the BH2 complex in Exeter Road at 12.30am on Thursday, January 6.

Officers have appealed for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.

Police Constable Chloe Riley, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am appealing to any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen any social media posts relating to this incident.”
