A SMALL supermarket and six flats could be built on the site of an existing block in Wimborne Road East, Ferndown.
Drawings with the application show the new 400 square metre retail unit for the Co-Op with a goods entrance to the rear together with eight parking spaces devoted to the store. The car park also features an electric vehicle charging point.
Dorset Council is being asked to consider an application from Havenhill Ltd to demolish Kingsland House at numbers 512-514 and replace it with a three storey building.
The scheme includes 15 new spaces for parking, a bin store and 12 cycle parking spaces.
Four of the proposed flats will be 1-bed, two 2-bed, each with dedicated parking space.
A letter from a planning agent claims the proposed development will improve the look of the area with a modern building offering accommodation and business use. The current bulding has three shops on the ground floor with offices above, the offices said to be currently vacant.
Comments on the application, Dorset Council reference 2021/04212, remain open until January 28.
