A FRESH fog warning has been issued for Dorset with a risk of some travel disruption.

The Met Office has issued an alert for Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and the county which will be in force from 5pm on Thursday, January 13, until 11am on Friday, January 14.

A Met Office spokesperson said: “Fog patches will reform during Thursday afternoon, particularly in river valleys and near lakes, and may become locally dense during the evening with visibility below 100 m in places.

“Fog is expected to become more widespread overnight and after dawn on Friday morning with further dense patches, before slowly clearing. However, a few patches may persist into the afternoon.”

In terms of what to expect, the Met Office said the fog could lead to slower journey times with delays to bus and train services possible.

There is also a chance of delays or cancellations to flights.

Friday is expected to start of foggy but it will burn away to leave sunny conditions for the rest of the day and highs of 9C.

Saturday will be partly cloudy with sunny intervals with a maximum temperature of around 8C.

Sunday will be overcast with clearer conditions by night. Friday’s fog alert is the second to be issued for Dorset in as many days.
