A MAN was punched in the face outside a McDonald’s before being further assaulted and robbed in Boscombe.

Between 4am and 5am on Wednesday, December 29, it is reported that the victim – a Bournemouth man in his 20s – was punched in the face by two men outside McDonald’s in Christchurch Road.

The men walked off and the victim continued to walk towards Pokesdown. As he reached Sainsbury’s, he was grabbed from behind by his rucksack, before being repeatedly punched and kicked while on the floor.

The victim managed to get up and ran away from the scene. He sustained bruising and swelling as a result of the incident.

The victim’s rucksack containing his wallet and mobile phone was stolen.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Police constable Faris Siwadi, of Dorset Police, said: “I am carrying out a full investigation to identify those responsible and have been conducting CCTV trawls of the area.

“I would urge anyone who was in the vicinity and witnessed what happened, or has any information to help my enquiries, to please get in touch.”
