A MAN has been caught drink driving in the road where he lives for the second time in more than four years.
Brian Ronald Wilson, 75, was at the wheel of a Volvo in Golf Links Road, Ferndown, on December 8 last year when he caught the attention of police officers.
A hearing at Poole Magistrates' Court on January 7 was told Wilson, of Golf Links Road, provided a sample which contained 80 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35 micrograms.
Wilson pleaded guilty to drink driving and a second charge of assaulting PC Cave by beating him at Bournemouth Custody after the motoring incident.
The defendant was fined £652 and ordered to pay a £65 surcharge, £85 costs and £50 compensation to the police officer.
He was disqualified from driving for 42 months.
The offences took place four years and a week after Wilson was caught drink driving in Golf Links Road after leaving a Christmas party at a golf club. At a court hearing in January 2018, he was banned from driving for 17 months.
