GET ready for the RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch 2022 by taking part in a family-friendly event in Wareham.

The Wild Weekend event is taking place at Cafe Lawn in the Arne Nature REserve between 10am and 1pm on Saturday, January 29.

Hosted by the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch, the event will teach you how to tell blackbirds from blue tits, the types of foods different birds like best and all about their special beaks.

Guests can also enjoy a family-friendly make and take away activity of a pine bird feeder.

For adults there is a guided tour of the café garden to learn more about ways to garden to feed birds and visit the shop for free seed samples (while stocks last).

The event is specially designed to gear you up to take part in the free Big Garden Birdwatch 2022.

The event attendance is free supported by the #NationalLotteryHeritageFund as part of the #HydesHeath project. Entry charges apply to non-members of the nature reserve.

Money raised through purchases at these events helps the RSPB nature reserve teams to continue to deliver their wildlife conservation work, advocacy, education and allows thousands of people every year to get closer to nature
