A RENEWED appeal has been launched to find potential witnesses to a collision which resulted in the death of a local man last month.

Officers investigating a fatal collision in Poole are appealing for the occupants of a car who may have witnessed what happened to come forward.

As reported, Dorset Police was called at 7.13am on Tuesday December 21, 2021, to a report of a collision involving a silver KTM motorcycle and a cyclist on Ringwood Road at the junction with Fernside Road outside the Shah of Persia.

The rider of the motorcycle – a local man aged in his 20s – was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cyclist, a man aged in his 50s from Poole, was taken to Poole Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Police constable Michael Burt, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts continue to remain with the family and friends of those involved.

“Following enquiries, we have established that a car was travelling directly behind the cyclist at the time of the incident.

“I would urge the occupants of the vehicle to please come forward as they may have witnessed what happened and have important information to help my investigation.

“I am also still keen to hear from any motorists who were travelling in the area and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”

An inquest opened last week into the death of the motorcyclist.

Dorset Coroner’s Court opened the inquest into the death of Callum Adam Clements, aged 23, who died on December 21, 2021.

The brief hearing at Bournemouth Town Hall on Tuesday, January 4, heard Mr Clements was riding his motorcycle away from Poole on Longfleet Road when the collision occurred at the crossroads with a cyclist around 7.13am.

Mr Clements, a ground maintenance worker of Russell Gardens in Poole, died of multiple injuries, a post mortem examination provisionally found.

Dorset area coroner Brendan Allen adjourned the inquest, with a review hearing set for April 4.
