SIX people were sentenced on the same day at Poole Magistrates’ Court in relation to motoring offences committed during Dorset Police’s annual Christmas campaign to tackle drink driving.

This year the force launched a Lift Legend message, in which 50 licensed premises in Dorset offered a free soft drink to designated drivers giving free lifts home to friends and family after a night out.

The following offenders committed their respective crimes after the launch of the campaign on December 1.

The cases were all dealt with at Poole Magistrates’ Court on January 5.

BOURNEMOUTH

JACK RICHARD ROY PALMER, aged 30 and of Elmes Road, Bournemouth, admits driving a Citroen C1 in Knyveton Road, Bournemouth, on December 5, 2021, with 54 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. Fined £120. To pay £34 surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months.

EAST DORSET

ASHLEY NEILD, aged 24 and of Woodside Road, West Moors, admits when suspected of having driven a vehicle and having been required to provide a specimen of blood for a laboratory test in the course of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence, failed to do so in the Wessex Way, Bournemouth, on December 5. Community order made, whereby the defendant must take part in up to 60 hours of unpaid work. To pay £95 surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 24 months.

JANIS PUSPURS, aged 42 and of Cannon’s Wharf, Tonbridge, admits driving a motor vehicle on the A31 Boundary Lane roundabout on December 6, 2021, with 81 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. Fined £120. To pay £34 surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 21 months.

NEW FOREST

LEENA EMILY ROSE HOLMAN, aged 29 and of Woodvale Gardens, Ashley, New Milton, admits driving a white VW Polo in St Michael’s Road, Bournemouth, on December 5, 2021, with 70 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. Fined £323. To pay £34 surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 20 months.

POOLE

FRANCES ELIZABETH MARGARET CARDEN, aged 67 and of Sydling Close, Poole, admits driving a motor vehicle in Sydling Close, Poole, on December 4, 2021, with 70 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. Fined £161. To pay £34 surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 20 months.

ADAM NORMAN BIDDISS, aged 44 and of Cornelia Crescent, Poole, admits when suspected of having been in charge of a vehicle and having been required to provide a specimen of breath for analysis in the course of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence, failed to do so in Bournemouth on December 6, 2021. Fined £200. To pay £34 surcharge. Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for three months.
