SEVEN vehicles were stopped by police in a new years eve crackdown for a number of driving offences.
Dorset Police No Excuse team were patrolling across the county on new years eve when they handed out a number of fines and reported motorists to court for driving with no license, insurance or tax.
The driver of a white car was stopped for doing 60mph in a 50mph zone, the driver has in fact had his license revoked and was issued with a fixed penalty notice.
His front seat passenger was insured so allowed to continue their journey.
The driver of the Fiesta van was picking up his girlfriend when he was stopped by police for having any insurance. He admitted he didn't have it as he 'couldn't afford it'. This was his second 'no insurance' offence in nine months, so police seized the vehicle and reported the driver to court.

A driver of a red Golf was stopped due to the car being heavily modified. The side windows were heavily tinted and he had no rear brake lights. He was issued with a fixed penalty.
The black golf has not been taxed since August 31, 2020.
The vehicle was seized and the driver was reported to the DVLA.
Dorset Police No Excuse also stopped the driver of a black Seat for the manner of his driving.

He said he hadn't had a drink for 36 hours, but smelt heavily of intoxicants. The driver was arrested and blew 80 which is roughly two and half times over the limit.
He was charged and bailed to court.
Another vehicle stopped on new years eve was a Mercedes - for having no insurance.
In the rear of the car were packs of meat, razors and baby milk - it turns out the items had been stolen from shops in Yeovil. Police enquiries are ongoing.
Finally police also stopped a driver who had previously been caught for having no insurance, MOT or tax for repeating these offences.
The VW Golf was seized and the driver was reported to court.
