A 13-UNIT expansion has been approved for a Blandford business estate.

The proposals will result in the continuation of the existing service road off Holland Way to allow access.

The application from Hollands Estates is similar to a previous consent for eleven units which had expired.

The additional units will look similar to those already on the site – with facing brickwork and insulated steel sheeting with floor to ceiling steel shutter roller doors.

The application allows for an extra 58 car parking spaces, five for light goods vehicles and an extra 26 cycle spaces.

The application to Dorset Council said the expansion is the second and final phases of the Holland Enterprise Park industrial estate which was first approved at the end of 2013.

Two of the units have been redesigned since the original proposal to provide smaller units and a larger area of parking with more HGV spaces throughout the site.

Dorset Council in approving the application said that the extra units should not cause additional disturbance to homes in the area, the closest being 100 metres away, but would include a condition of the consent to restrict the hours of use from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm on Saturday with no business use on Sundays or Bank Holidays.

Construction will not be allowed to start until a surface water drainage scheme has been approved by the council.
