NOW that the council has removed the safer cycling route linking Sandbanks via Keyhole Bridge at Whitecliff Road, through Poole Park, up Birds Hill and through Garland and Tatnam to Sterte and then Holes Bay’s cycle path, the parallel roads passing through the Shah Of Persia need even more urgent attention.
Smart cameras linking to the police and alerting them immediately to vehicles exit blocking and waiting in bike boxes (advanced stopping lines) could take a lot of drunk/drugged/medically unfit drivers off the road, here and at all the junctions.
ANPR outside London is due early next year for monitoring and fining, so should be used on all our junctions, and for monitoring the new school streets.
