WHILE shoppers zip around the town centre to do their Christmas shopping garbed in their masks, we all remember shopping in the area long before the pandemic.
But how many of us remember the original Bobby’s department store?
Bobby & Co originally opened in Bournemouth Square in May 1915 and was gradually extended over the years.
The store became Debenhams in 1972, in a ceremony conducted by disc jockey and presenter Terry Wogan.
And in September 2021 the store made a welcome return to the town centre after a major transformation.
The pictures in the gallery above are from the old store before it became Debenhams.
