FINE Art students from Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) have created and installed their own sculptures for a temporary re-design of a mini golf course.
For the fourth time, AUB students have brought their creativity to the Lower Gardens Miniature Golf Course in Bournemouth to give putters an extra obstacle to thwart their hole in one attempts.
From Friday December 10 to Sunday, 12, visitors will be treated to chess pieces, placards, sea monsters and even pizza slices while playing on the BCP Council owned golf course.
The art has also been used on the nearby table tennis facilities.
18 unique site-specific artworks were created by the students under the tutelage of internationally travelled artist Doug Fishbone, who said: “We’ve had some great ones over the years, but this year’s is particularly fun.
“There’s some visually exciting stuff out there and some crazy ones but we didn’t want to go too wild and offend the good people of Bournemouth.
“It’s of course fun and engaging but it actually adds a great deal to the skills of the students. The town already looks fantastic with the trees and ice skating so it’s nice to add one extra family-fun element. We hope people enjoy it.”
