LIDL will be opening two new stores in Dorset on the same day this week.

The German supermarket has confirmed that its new shop on Ringwood Road, in Verwood as well as its new and improved store in West Howe, will both open on Thursday, December 9.

The new store in Verwood will create around 40 new jobs for the local area and feature a 1,170m2 sales area.

The opening times will be between 8am - 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am – 4pm on Sunday.

Meanwhile the new store in West Howe, which replaced the previous store on the same site, will now have a larger sales area of 1,655m2, offering a greater range of Lidl’s produce.

The store’s opening times will be between 7am - 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am – 4pm on Sunday.

To mark the opening, customers will be able to find exclusive deals and offers on selected products on opening day including a 65 Inch UHD Smart TV (£449), a Hot Air Fryer (£29.99) and an ASUS Chromebook Flip Laptop Grey (£149.99).

Both supermarkets will feature an in-store bakery, customer toilets, electric vehicle charging and parking for both cars and bicycles.

Lidl GB’s regional head of property, James Mitchell, said: “There has been much anticipation for these new Lidl stores and we are delighted to finally be able to open our doors and welcome local residents.

“We have received overwhelming support from the local community, and we would like to thank everyone who has played a part in delivering these new stores.

"We now look forward to serving our multi-award-winning products to even more of the local community in Dorset.”

As per the latest government guidance, anyone entering a Lidl store must wear a face covering, unless exempt.

Lidl continues to operate a range of social distancing measures to help maintain a safe environment for both colleagues and customers including cleaning stations at entrances, hand sanitiser, and protective screens at checkouts.
