DORSET Police are appealing for witnesses after a man on a moped was attacked with a slingshot in Poole.

The victim of the assault, described as a man in his 20s, was riding a red Yamaha moped when he was hit with an unknown object fired from a slingshot.

The incident took place at the Civic Centre roundabout toward Poole Park at around 8.30pm on Thursday, December 2.

The victim was hit on his neck, but did not sustain any injuries.

Police community support investigator Adam Cleaver, of Poole Police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened or may have relevant dashcam footage to please come forward.

“This kind of activity poses a danger to road users and the wider public and I would urge people to act responsibly.”
