BOURNEMOUTH Christmas Market has been temporarily closed as a precaution due to conditions caused by Storm Barra.

A social media post by the official Bournemouth Christmas Market account reads: “We’re afraid due to the high winds forecast we have had to close the market until at least 2pm today.

“We'll be reviewing this throughout the day so please keep your eyes on our channels for more updates. In the meantime, stay safe and we hope to see you soon.”

This was confirmed by BCP Council who posted an update saying the temporary closure of the market, based in Bournemouth Square, would be reviewed at 2pm this afternoon.
