A MAN has been handed a driving ban for repeat offending after he was caught speeding at 89mph in a 50mph road.
Jose Leonel Loreto, aged 31 and of Broadmayne Road, Poole, was at the wheel of a BMW in the Dorset Way, Poole, significantly in excess of the speed limit on March 9.
Loreto pleaded guilty to a single offence of speeding under the single justice procedure.
His case was dealt with in a private hearing at Weymouth Magistrates' Court on December 1, which the defendant did not attend.
A single magistrate handed Loreto a £385 fine, along with an order to pay a £38 surcharge and £90 costs.
The defendant was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months. This disqualification was obligatory due to repeat offending.
