A JURY was shown video footage of a man accused of murdering millionaire Sir Richard Sutton leading police on a chase from north Dorset to London.

Thomas Schreiber is on trial at Winchester Crown Court accused of murdering Sir Richard and attempting to murder his own mother Anne Schreiber on April 7.

An attack took place at Sir Richard’s Moorhill estate near Gillingham, Dorset.

The court heard that the defendant fled the area in a Range Rover, which sparked a large and lengthy police pursuit along the A303 and M3.

As well as footage from a police helicopter, body-worn video from a pursuing vehicle was shown with an officer shouting at the defendant “armed police”.

The video showed the Range Rover being driven by Schreiber colliding with a police car in what has been described as a “hard stop” in Chiswick, west London.

Body-worn video also showed Thomas Schreiber, who had been tasered, being dragged from the Range Rover before officers remove his clothes to locate where he had stabbed himself in the chest.

The defendant was heard repeatedly calling out: “Please kill me now, please just shoot me,” and adding: “I am asking you to put a bullet in my ******* head.”

An officer replies: “Mate, that’s not going to happen, stop asking.”

Schreiber denies murder and attempted murder and the trial continues.

Dorset Police released edited versions of the footage in agreement with the Crown Prosecution Service.
